Fire Drill

I'd forgotten all about the fact that we were due to have a fire drill some time this week - but I should have realised that it would be today when it was a lovely sunny day. They do try hard to avoid turfing us all out in the rain!

We are quite lucky in my team as we work on the 1st floor, so don't have to traipse down lots of flights of stairs. Just as well, as I forgot to put my flat shoes on before evacuating the building, regretted it during the walk over to the rendezvous point, it's a 5 minute walk, then down some steps to the underpass where we all meet.

It does take some time to get 1200 or so people out of the building but it must have gone fairly smoothly as we got back in again without too much delay. It was quite good to be out in the sunshine with time to chat to colleagues from other floors who we don't normally see much of.
