Today I have learnt that Doctor Sulamain al Fahim is the 16th richest person in the Arab world and it is now believed that he represents one of the wealthiest, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nayhan(the silent investor backing Manchester City).
Sheikh Mansour and his family hold all the key roles in the Abu Dhabi government.
He is the Minister of Presidential affairs for the UAE and chairman of the First Gulf Bank. He is married to Sheikha Manal bin Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, daughter of Sheikh Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai.
Both Abu Dhabi and Dubai share ridiculous oil wealth and the al Nayhan's are believed to have a family fortune of £555billion.
The rivalry between Abu Dhabi and Dubai is increasingly being performed on the global stage.
Abu Dhabi has more cash and oil, but Dubai is presently regarded in terms of global finance as more entrepreneurial and dynamic in its international dealings.
By taking over Manchester City - and pledging to invest untold millions - Abu Dhabi's royal family have laid down the gauntlet.. surely now The Dubai group will do their utmost to purchase Liverpool...
The new owners of City have pledged to issue lucrative bids for Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas and Fernando Torres in the January transfer window.. After yesterday's purchase of Robinho from Real Madrid these deals must be taken seriously...
and as I sit here considering all this and the future for Manchester City Football Club, my mind boggles and anything and everything seems possible...
