Ice Cream Cone?

This strange pinkish thing appeared in front of a neighbor's house. From a distance it looked like a giant Ice Cream Cone.

Upon closer inspection, however it seems that a beach towel has been placed over a potted plant for protection from the frost.

Temperature this morning was 32 degrees F, and we expect a cold clear night tonight with another frost. Then back to 80 degrees for the latter part of the week.
