The "Prestwick" of Florida
Yup - this is Orlando Sanford Airport. Only about 1M passengers per year - so makes it a bit deserted like Prestwick. Only really charter flights.....and mainly in the summer with us Brits.
Interesting fact though....it is regularly in the top 30 airports for flight movements. But that's due to the pilot training, where each circuit flown counts as a movement.
So for those trying to find the Gator Golf, I was in Orlando last night. Nearly as tired as the first night in Las Vegas when we all fell asleep at the dinner table.
We were meant to see Orlando International first thing - but they called off! Thought we could go to a theme park for the morning, but worked online instead. Even though we didn't see them, we'll still count.
Then drove for around 3 hours to our next destination (you'll need to wait till tomorrows instalment for that info).
So competition results for today are:
Airport {Orlando International Airport}
IATA code {MCO}
ICAO code {KMCO}
Airport {Orlando Sanford International Airport}
IATA code {SFB}
