Booo

an impromptu day off due to child care problems, took me to tesco with abs in the trailer, and via the playground at chester-le-street park on the way back.

The playground adjoins an open air paddling pool, pictured here. last year it was really busy, and apart from a wasps nest problem at one point, it was always full of kids enjoying themselves. The pool is relatively new, and replaced an old one that was removed, probably for being unsafe, some years ago.

signs are up saying the pool will not open this summer. why not? safety? if so put a proper lifeguard on, not the pre pubescent weed that was there day in day out last year. maybe its cost? come on! charge 50p entry, im sure people wouldn't mind!!!

C-l-S has had an open air paddling pool since i was a nipper, even though it was a tad grotty at times, it provided cooling relief from the hot summer. and then as a teenager, it was lunchbreak entertainment for me and my geeky friends to try and throw each other in, or walk on it when frozen.

whatever the reason, it blows, shame on you durham council
