River rising......

With temps between 15C and 27C this week, the St. John River is on the rise. On my way to work this morning the Maugerville Wharf was visible but as you can see, by 5:30 PM, only a bit remained above water. In the background you can see big chunks of ice floating down the river.

Although the unusually high temperatures are wonderful, it is causing the snow and ice to melt too quickly for the brooks, streams and rivers. Hopefully the melting will slow down and we won't have to worry about flooding.
