Iconic Day
This morning, hubby dropped me off near Byres Rd so I could walk in the sunshine to Starbucks for a coffee and to meet up with the rest of the "Christian Spiritual Traditions" class. We then visited St Luke's Greek Orthodox Cathedral. An interesting church! An old Church of Scotland building within which resides a Greek Orthodox Church. I blipped some of the traditional icons for you, but on the icon screen there are some icons painted by the original priest in a Roman Catholic style. So a little mixed up inside!
We were shown around by one of the deacons who explained much of what goes on in a service and what we could see. He also talked through the Orthodox faith. There was much to consider which is very different to my understanding as a Baptist. And this generated much discussion amongst the class as we enjoyed a meal together afterwards in a Greek restaurant in central Glasgow. The afternoon was spent with a few other students chilling out in All Bar One!
Hubby made stacks of progress today! The hob, sink and oven are in and the electrics are wired up! So probably time for a kitchen update blip tomorrow!
