Lots of school groups on the Royal Mile, making the most of local history and outdoor learning.

Here we a have an eager and attentive group hearing about the diminutive poet Robert Fergusson - an inspiration for Robert Burns who paid to have a headstone erected on his grave in Canongate Kirk Yard.

This statue was apparently unveiled in 2004 - must admit I thought it was more recently than that but time flies these days!
