.....Running on-running on empty......

Got to work today just after 8.00....left tonight just after 7.05....an 11 hour day.

Full day teaching, lesson planning for next week and marking books.

2 1/2 hour Parents Evening tonight...4.30-7.00.

I started at 4.25 and finished at 7.02.....I had 30 booked appointments....five didn't show...but 12 extras did....so 37 sets of parents....didn't stop for the full time....no chance of a coffee....or a fag....or even a pee.

Got home at 7.45....totally drained....so drained I didn't even go to the quiz tonight......didn't even make dinner.

So that's it.....I'm a spent force....and there's still a week to the Easter holidays.

Tomorrow, straight after work I have to drive 100+ miles to my cousin's surprise 40th Wedding anniversary party.....then 100+ miles back home on Saturday.....fishing match on Sunday...and then back to work Monday...back to the relentless grinding pressure...back to the constantly moving goalposts.....back to jumping through hoops......retirement looks more appealing with every new task dropped from above.
