Lovage
One of the most remarkable plants in the garden, this comes up regularly (and is a prolific self seeder if you're that way inclined)
From bare earth to six foot spires of flowerheads in two months is a pretty impressive growth rate. If you cut it back when it looks abit tatty in the middle of summer you get a whole lot of new growth.
It's not a common herb (probably because it's very definitely not a windowsill plant) but it's good to use in cooking.
There must be something it likes here as it's mate in the back garden doesn't do nearly as well.

Thursday - slightly less incompetent but still up at the centre till late
