701 00 - escalators in brand new SHOPPING heaven

Thursday was opening day of the brand new shopping centre NOVA KAROLINA in my birthplace city OSTRAVA, Czech Republic. A few activist who are against this kind of developers´ project use the name NOVA FUKUSHIMA because the buildings are similar with the world well-known Japanese nuclear plant.
Most of local politics are happy that NOVA KAROLINA standing now. I´ m not sure if my city need another big shopping centre but this is developers´ trend in Czech Republic. This brownfields is past renewal now. At the end of 80´ s in the last century there was a industrial coking plant. Unfortunately old industrial hall behind the shopping centre will be in future using for the concerts etc. If you would like to see more photos go to my small gallery at Flickr here
