Cardinal's Wharf

Passed this rather lovely house on the scenic route to work this morning. It is on the South Bank of the Thames, directly opposite St Paul's Cathedral, and legend (and the plaque by the door) has it that "Here lived Sir Christopher Wren during the building of St Paul's cathedral".

However, the house was built in about 1710, the year St Paul's was completed, which makes the story a little unlikely. The plaque was probably originally attached to a now-destroyed building a few houses down the river, and was put up by the owner of the house in 1945.
