Sorry about the feather...

Having seen her in the company of a handsome drake a few days ago, Mrs Duck has now made her nest in the gardens at Hughenden Manor - on a planting table amongst the plant pots. We watched her rearranging the sticks and leaves, then it went quiet for a few minutes. When she moved off to the end of the table, lo and behold, there was the egg tucked into a pot lying on its side. The National Trust staff will have the same problem again this year, getting her and her chicks a mile or so down the hill to the river. She obviously feels safe in the gardens.
