Walking in South Lakeland --
on our 37th Wedding Anniversary!
What a glorious day and apparently one of the warmest for the 22nd of March on record.
We walked around Cartmell Fell which has the lovely 'softer', farming hills which I love and are typical of South Lakeland.
This is taken at Sow How tarn (man made for fishing). The walk included woodland, farmland and moorland fell with views over the Winster valley, Whitbarrow and in the far distance the Kent Estuary and Morecambe Bay. A bonus at the turning point of the walk was the 500 year old Elizabethan Church of St Anthony of the Fell, also known as Cartmell Fell Church.
A lovely way to celebrate.
