a moonscape
This morning my friend and I walked on Mount Tzouhalem for three and half hours. On the mountain is a partially excavated golf course. The man had most of the site excavated when he requested municipal water. The municipality refused him water and the man stopped the work on his golf course.
A large part of the mountain side was left exposed - mostly shale.
In the shale one can find doubly terminated quartz crystals (Herkimer Diamonds). Also fossils can be found.
