Language Barrier

Thank Crunchie its Friday!

Spent the whole morning on a video conference call. 3 French engineers with OK English skills talking to 2 Scottish technical managers who don't speak a word of French (although I can order beer and pizza in French but I don't think that counts)! . Add into the mix the fact our Glasgow office is sandwiched between two railway lines with trains passing every few minutes...........

You can probably imagine how that call went!

Hence the resulting blip of one of the Bl***y trains (from the conference room window)!

On an aside - I am starting to feel quite embarrassed every time I visit or talk to the technical guys in France. I don't speak French even though I have visited the Country more than a dozen times. However, I find myself (rather arrogantly) fully expecting all the French engineers to speak English.
