Blown budget

I'm fed up of hearing the words 'credit crunch' and 'recession', but current circumstances dictate the watching of pennies.

The Asda/Aldi experiment continued this week with a trip to Aldi and the weekly food budget of £25 firmly in mind. I knew it was going to be a struggle with the high value pack of nappies wading in at £5.29! Deviation from the strictly compiled shopping list meant a further overspend, but 36 items for less than a pound an item isn't all bad.

The positives are that most of next weeks meals are now in place and the nappies won't be required for another few weeks. Right, I'm off to give my new home-made pizza recipe a trial run. The boys are back in town tomorrow and I can't wait to see their little faces again.
