The Last Train Has Left the Station

This is the railway station at Moniaive near Dumfries. Opened in 1902 the railway closed in 1947.
Moniaive also used to have a laundry which was used by the wealthy families of the area. It is said that when they spent time in their town houses in London their washing was still cleaned at the laundry in Moniaive having been delivered by train!

If you look closely you can see that the station is about to be towed away by a miniature tractor.
