waltzing matilda

okay, well this wasn't matilda waltzing...but her name was matilda... I'm referring of course to the kangaroo, and not Jenny, the lovely owner of the most magical accommodation in the Hunter Valley - Billabong Moon.

The owners bottle fed 'Matilda' as a little one, abandoned... and now Matilda just hangs out in their home in the Hunter. She'd even been into the bedroom and onto their bed earlier that day - although not normally encouraged to do so!

I fed her some bread (not recognised as a staple within a kangaroo diet, but okay for the odd treat) and was reduced to an excited child, to be so close to a real life kangaroo. Yup, typical pom.
