Je ne regrette rien, encore une fois
A beautiful Sunday. I'm sitting listening to 'Soul Music' on R4, 'Je ne regrette rien', with Christine Bovill singing. You may remember I went to see her during last year's Festival and blipped her. It is such an amazing song and Piaf had such an amazing voice. I suppose it's a bit of a theme song for me, that and 'I Will Survive', which coincidentally was the team song for Les Bleues in the World Cup the year we were in France when they won.
It has been a bit of a French week-end. There was the first blipmeet of SW blippers in La Place du Capitole, Toulouse. I had flirted with the idea of going, but no more than a thought, so it was great to see in person people I only know by blipname, sitting in the French sunshine. In the evening I finally caught up with Fidelma's Herald columns. I was about 4 weeks behind and missed the news of Portia (the Afghan's) health scare. The Herald site timed out on me after I'd read about her life or death situation and it was an 'oh no' situation until I could get back in again and read that she had survived, with much support and help from the lovely M. Daly, the Lavit vet. It was he who looked after my two cats and treated Phoebe when she was poorly and losing her fur. One of the few times she sat on my lap. I hope Phoebe and P.C. are still ok in their new home in T et G . I couldn't bring them home.
E-mailed Fidelma and she replied saying that M had also, unexpectedly, been in contact. A visit may be in the offing, but that's ok.
The clocks have advanced (thanks Troosers for the reminder to change the camera clock, been caught out with that before) and summer has arrived. Today the sun and warmth has returned to Edinburgh after yesterday's yucky day.
I woke up at 6.15 and thought, oh it's really 5.15 but it was actually 7.15 as my watch was the one timepiece I hadn't advanced. Time, such a weird concept. Later, I went to see my folks. Dad is not good but I got more sponsorship money for #2 son and a card and present for #1.
On the way back the blossom looked so beautiful and toned with the pink of the stone in the wall.
Now I will prepare the meal and maybe have a couple of hours in the garden.
