Tepito

Today we went to check out the "mother of all street-markets" at the "crime-ridden and notoriously dangerous" district of Tepito here in Mexico City.

The truth is I did not find that place highly dangerous at all but had a really good time there wandering around that maze of a market :-) Of course one needs to take the usual safety precautions, but no more than that. Not even in the side-streets we faced any problems.

Sometimes being a traveller you have to find your own rules and trust your feelings, I experienced the same thing in terms of food the other day. I have been eating basically everything and everywhere the last weeks and never got sick eating in the streets of which basically everyone warned me. Then on Friday I went to this restaurant I go to on a weekly basis and ate a very toxic taco and felt miserable.
That's life ;-)
