flat lands

this is a view of Strensall Common, north of York, where we were orienteering today. It is an extensive area of lowland heath and consequently has a lot of boggy bits. The last time we ran there was one winter when the bogs were covered in ice and it took my feet 3 days to warm up afterwards! Today was quite different, being rather warm and sunny.
