I probably sold these to King John's Castle back in the day. They must be 15-18 years old at least.
When the King John's Castle guide said we could go through the door and view a ' slide show', I though it was an old fashioned turn of phrase. But it was actually an old style dissolve slide show with 9 projectors dissolving multiple slides into 3 areas of a single screen.
I though I 'd stepped back 15 years, but the faded colours confirmed it was real.
See it while you can. This decrepit tourist trap wasn't worth 9 euro, hopefully Shannon Development will give it a clean and maintenance budget this year. It is what it is, a 400-800 year old castle, but do they really have to let it go as much as they have?
I can highly recommend the free Limerick Museum next door , the contrast with castle next door is stark.
Perhaps that love and passion so evident in the city musuem, was why I felt King John's Castle was so decrepit, but then again its takes many years of neglect to put a green tinge mould on a structure.
