Nest Builders

Ollie got a thorough grooming today. Bearded collies don't shed their hair, but the soft under coat has to be combed/brushed out regularly. By the time I'd finished there was a lot of his coat blowing around the garden!

Later this afternoon Mike and I sat in the sun (yes, it was hot and sunny!) with our tea and our marmalade muffins and watched the sparrows selecting beak-fulls of Ollie's fur and flying off with it to line their nests.

A really super day - even though Mike has ended up with a very scratched and bloodied back after the old garden chair he was sitting on disintegrated beneath him!
