Titley Times

Fresh Air

and exercise today - and lots of it.

The day started with an unplanned early morning walk to the shops to get milk - which as the clocks had gone forwards was 7am in old money and the even then the sun was shining and the birds were singing - I was even feeling optimistic enough to buy a Sunday Times with the plan of reading it all (madness!)

Hubby went off on a fishing trip and I took the boys to their swimming lessons. A quick trip around the shops afterwards to buy some new pjs for eldest and a card and wrapping paper for the present I'd bought for a party that tiddler was due at this afternoon (oops)

Eldest and I had planned some time together while tiddler was at his party, so I loaded up our bikes on the car and we managed a 4 mile bike ride along an old railway line that ran nearby. Oddly the 2 miles back were twice as fast as the 2 miles there - it is strange to be able to feel the gradient on a track that you imagine is fairly flat.

As we'd made good time we got back to the party with time to spare and we wandered around the grounds and I let eldest loose with my camera. I'd taken a couple while we'd been out on the bikes, but nothing that was that good. Eldest managed to take 200 photos, mostly in focus, and lots were of a group of pretty tame peacocks that were roaming around.

So this is one of eldest's photos, with just a little added contrast and a very mild crop - not bad I say!

Once we got back home we had to scoot into the village again to 'forage' from the co-op for crusty bread, pate and ice lollies.

By this time hubby was home and the boys were demanding some footy time - I had to cry out as just too damn tired - but they were still full of beans!

So lots and lots of exercise today for all of us - at least they'll sleep well (and catch up on last nights lost hour)
