New Larch Bud

Finally got back to blipping after a spell in hospital for treatment to my leg (see last posting). Nothing worth taking from a hospital bed hence the absence.

This, however, was a welcome sign of spring on a day that proved to be one of the warmest March days on record for Scotland.

Can't say I've really noticed how starkly fresh and pretty new larch buds are until I came across this at head height and with hobbling distance of our weekend retreat.

I reckon, this year, the trees are going to make up for the 'big storm' that killed the emerging growth last spring. Or perhaps this lovely weather is yet another false hope and we're back to wet and windy conditions next week. I hope not.
