A sense of loss

Today has been a weird day.

Work was manic with my boss working from home feeling under the weather and the other support manager off ill. I hardly got 5 minutes to myself.

On the other hand the office was quite subdued. We lost a developer to motor neurone disease on Friday. He was only 38, the age I will be this year and leaves behind a wife and a very young family. Such a sobering experience to hear of someone die so young. I couldn't call him a friend really as we seldom worked together but as a manager the good guys fall on your radar and he was definitely one of them. Funeral is on Thursday. Reckon the office will be quiet in the afternoon.
