A historical item or not quite yet? The Coastguard emergency towing vessels for the West Coast of Scotland and the Shetlands/Orkney are set to be removed due to cut backs. They were given a lifeline extension late last year however their future looked less than secure until the MV Flinterspirit went aground off North Uist in the Hebrides on Monday.
