Spot the planet
The word planet is ancient Greek for wanderer and I've been fascinated over recent weeks seeing Venus and Jupiter dancing a peasant fertility dance in the western night sky after dusk.
Unable to sleep, I stepped onto the balcony after midnight to be faced by a different sky. Mars was off to the SW close to Regulus in Leo. I believe this image shows Saturn, possibly close to Spica in Virgo. Ah, but which one...?
I shall get out my ancient Norton's Star Atlas (Epoch 1000 AD) and peer myopically at it; and then, as usual, google my enquiry.
But for now, I've uploaded the image without a definitive answer to the question.
