Going potty!
Are we lucky with the weather or what - more glorious sunshine and it's hot! Had a good mix of activities today. Went to buy more bedding plants and spent a happy hour in the garden later in the morning planting them out. It takes a lot of plants to fill the borders, I need lots more.
After lunch off to the Arts Centre in Thirsk for part 2 of the raku pottery course. I enjoyed this session rather more, the pots were made so it was all about glazing and decorating. The firing took place outside which was lovely as we were able to enjoy the sunshine. The 'kilns' were modified dustbins and the whole process of firing, burning off and dunking in water was fascinating. I had 3 little dishes. The one in the blip was just about to be removed from the kiln and it turned out to be the best. One is mediocre and the other one is in my dustbin!
I began the day thinking that today's blip would be the new residents of the nest box. Initially much interest was shown by the nuthatch but he moved on. Then the bluetits came to view but this morning there was real nest building activity by a couple of sparrows. Thrilled to note they were not house sparrows but tree sparrows. I brushed Bracken and put the soft fluff nearby and they began using it straight away. I hope to take more pictures of them tomorrow, they definitely deserve to be blipped!
