King Of Calne
The other day I learned the exciting news that Calne had its own resident peregrine falcons nesting on the belfry of our local church! In this picture one, I am speculating the male, is keeping guard while the other sits on the nest (you can just see the tail feathers). Judging from his splendid girth he is quite good at hunting pigeons.
In other news, at least one of the mallards on the River Marden in Calne has had her chicks. She was sitting proudly on the bank with her brood of four.
