The End of an Era?

This might have been my last Tuesday walk ever, as my new job starts after the Easter holidays.

The path is on the site of an old railway track, which is why it is so straight. It is used by cyclists and horse riders as well as walkers.

There is some plan being talked about to build a by-pass which would cut right through here. Apparently they have been talking about this on and off for years, so I don't know whether it is a serious possiblility.
