Sandman

We are on our third day of the Food Tour and our tummies are well packed from all the food tasting that we're doing. Driving south we took a short detour to see the sandmen of the Bago river. Sand is dredge by hand from the bottom of the shallow river bed and piled into the little bancas. When full, the banca's make their way back to shore for loading onto trucks who in turn sell and delivery to various construction sites.
