Photographic Poeticisms

Innocence

Oh Innocence that is my floral delight
Bright trumpeted flower of nature's design
Springtime pours from each petal bright
To gladden these Winter eyes of mine

With cousins' sunshine happy cheer
Spread warming glow throughout new green
To herald the change of season dear
Of warmth for months long since seen

Hedge and gardener's small paradise plot
Are reborn with colours vibrant, bold
The precursor to Summer days long, hot
Of wanderings and discoveries yet untold

Ah innocence that I might remain
Within these days of wakening life
And not be forced to ride the adult train
With responsibility's unamed strife

Let me yet return for one time short
And know not yet the comings of the years
That I might remember freedom as creature uncaught
And be innocence, innocence without tears
