water harvesting
Thanks to everybody for the kind congratulations on my 365th blip! Actually its a bit more than a year since I started this malarkey as to start with I was much worse at keeping up with the blip a day thing but as the bug took hold I've become more consitent. I very much enjoy looking at people's journals - even if I don't always comment. The sense of community can be almost tangible
I hope to put individual responses in the next few days, but many thanks to all for your comments
This photo is of the ceiling in part of the kitchen, under the bathroom. When we did the work on the house we just ran the pipework for the new bathroom under the existing ceiling, which at least makes it easy to access.
We also put in a harvesting system for the rain which keeps the pond topped up most of the time and provides water for two semi-underground tanks further down the garden.
I really wish I'd had enough energy to fit a system for collecting water from the bath and shower, now part of the pipework will be on show but I'm hoping we can make it quitte unobtrusive.
Given that we're already in drought I think any water I can harvest will only be a good thing for the garden
