A German Classic visits Paris

This lovely Mercedes 230.4 was spotted very nearby on the Rue de Tolbiac* (Paris 13e). The number 37 at the end of its old-style license plate (American terminology) marks it as from the department of Indre-et-Loire on the Loire river (the city of Tours is its prefecture,with about half its total population of ca. 600,000).

The car was most likely built around 1974-76, and looks to be in excellent condition (though I didn't have time to inspect it). *Tolbiac has seen an almost embarrassing number of recent blips--perhaps the most vivid one is here--the red SFR sign in that image reappears in the extreme left distance in this one.
