A pleasant pheasant ...

... on the estate. We are over-run with the blighters!

Have you ever tried to take a photo of a pheasant?

I chased this one for about half an hour today and every time I got close he shrieked (does that describe the noise a pheasant makes?) and ran off in the opposite direction.

Now if I had a larger lens this would not have been a problem but as I don't it caused untold hilarity among those watching and the longer I chased him the more determined I became to catch him.

It's not the best shot in the world but after all that hard work I was hardly likely not to publish it, was I?
