Dragons at #gdnopenweekend

Went to some great talks at The Guardian Open Weekend. The best on Saturday was Cressida Cowell's talk on How to Train your Dragon. In fact it was all about her childhood holidays on a remote, uninhabited Scottish island that inspired all her stories about vikings and dragons. She was a lovely woman who took time to listen to the children and showed a genuine interest in what they had to say. Her readings in Dragonese were particularly funny. The children loved it, especially the cartoon of Toothless she drew in their books.
