Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Borrowed Ice Plant

For the most part, I don't think ice plant is beautiful. Much of the time it looks more dead than alive, but when it begins to bloom, it's lovely.

This plant is the result of a piece of ice plant that we pinched from a plant growing right in front of the poet Robinson Jeffers' home in Carmel, California. Several times we've been in Carmel on a Friday or Saturday and had the opportunity to go on one of the docent led tours of the Jeffers' home.

So today when I arrived home from the campus and found these blooms, I was excited to share them with Mr. Fun. When I got right down on the ground to capture this image the pooches were delighted. Of course they thought I was there to play with them. They are so fun.

Mr. Fun and I talked about getting in the spa, but choose to just sit in the patio chairs and soak in the warmth of the sun. It was delightful.

Good night from Southern California.
