My Local!!

Not quite the local you may think, this is
my local church, St Mary's Priory Church.
Eustace Fitz-John founded the priory between 1147-1154.
The building of the Church itself started in 1150 at the East
end and progressed Westwards until completion in 1200.
Its architectural influence was drawn from the Abbeys of
both Rievaulx and Whitby.
I have put on my blipfolio, an exterior shot so that you
can appreciate its size. Yesterdays shot of St Hilda's church
by comparison would fit inside with room to spare.
