It's exhausting being a star
but well worth it apparently because it makes me happy.
James has been EXCITED about today, because it was his first Parents' evening at school. He was expecting positive things - am not sure that even he was expecting as positive as we got.
Academically he is flying. He has a couple of targets, largely to do with depth and detail in his written work, but other than that....nothing. His Maths teacher had written "FAB!" next to his name on her sheet, his Science teacher was more than impressed, his history teacher told me that James' oral response in a discussion last week "blew him away" and was A'level standard - James had contributed commentary about similarities between the Peasants Revolt and the actions of the Tsar of Russia at the time of the revolution.
Smart arse - no idea where he gets it from.
I raised my concerns about presentation of work and was listened to.
I was surprised to find that he is also excelling in PE, being particularly good at Rugby (contact!), Handball and Dance.
So, it was a long evening being on the other side of the desk, but it was wonderful to hear James being praised and constructively advised by his teachers, and to see him being proud and humble all at the same time.
So, it looks like I might have to get him some birthday presents now!!!
Love you Jimbo - you're ACE and Corin and I couldn't be more proud of you.
