An Awakening

WHO SAID THEY HAVE TO DRESS UP ????

MY ARMS WAVING, TRYING TO GET MY YOUNGEST TO HELP ME OUT WITH MY BLIP. SHE DOESN'T CARE WHAT HAPPENED TODAY THAT CAUSE ME NOT TO REACH MY GOAL, JUST STOP EMBARRASSING ME! VERY FRUSTRATING :/

I MAY HAVE MENTIONED BEFORE THAT SHE IS TWELVE AND ON THE VERGE OF GROWING UP. EVERYTHING ABOUT HER IS PHYSICALLY CHANGING, YET SHE IS STILL SO PLAYFUL AND UNAWARE. MOST DAYS SHE IS A BIT OF A TOM BOY, PLAYING SPORTS WITH THE BOYS AT RECESS. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE SHE NEEDS TO DRESS UP FOR AN OCCASION LIKE TONIGHT, HER CONCERT AND SHE SCARES ME WITH THESE WOMANLY CHANGES. I USUALLY MASK THE FEELING BY SAYING SOMETHING LIKE "GRAB A SWEATER AND DON'T TAKE IT OFF" NOT TOO LONG AGO HER HAIR WAS DOWN HER BACK. LONG, GORGEOUS SPIRAL CURLS WITH LOTS OF BLONDE HIGH-LITES. THEN AT HER REQUEST, I CUT IT OFF. TWELVE INCHES IN ALL. MISTAKE? FOR HER YES, FOR ME? EH, I MUST ADMIT, I DID THINK AFTERWARDS THAT IT WOULD LIKELY HOLD OFF THE BOYS FROM KNOWING WHAT I KNOW, AND THAT'S PERFECTLY FINE WITH ME. I REALLY WANT MORE TIME WITH THIS ONE. LET'S HOPE I HAVE MANY MORE DAYS FILLED WITH JEANS, SWEATSHIRTS AND PONYTAILS.
