In Tandem

Last week I was up taking my dad's dog for a walk at a nearby forest. There is a man-made lochan there. It has no fish and I never see anything in it except dragonflies. My dad saw something surface and we thought perhaps it was a fish, but he said, "no, it's a frog". Then we noticed the frog song. It was all around us, like distant ducks quacking. I'd never heard this before. Everywhere we looked we could see the activity of frogs or the telltale signs thereof. I have never seen so many in my life. I said to my dad that it must be mating time and sure enough I got this picture and many more besides. It was a spectacular sight to behold.
