The domino effect

Kylan got his dominoes out today.

There is something very reassuring about the sight of dominoes. They've been around forever and all they are, are blocks of wood with dots on them.

When you've spent time and effort constructing a masterpiece of a domino trail, and you've just got the last 20 or so to go....then a clumsy fat finger (or a big furry tail) knocks one over and the whole lot go (I spent most of Christmas day 2011 in this manner). As you watch them all fall down, with that plinking plonking sound which seems to be mocking you, you're torn between being really pissed off, but at the same time trying to enjoy watching them topple down because, you might as well.
