Duke of Edinburgh

Not actually a photo of the Duke of Edinburgh of course but Lucy on her way to school to begin her Silver Duke of Edinburgh Expedition in the Peak District. Despite walking 48km over 3 days this is still classed as training for the real thing in July. She's had a problem packing her rucksack as there are strict weight restrictions due to health and safety - while this is obviously a good thing the weight of her sleeping bag, tent poles and pegs (the tent is carried by someone else) and the cooking stove and gas cylinder mean there is very little available 'weight' for spare clothes and food!!

Thank you all for your concern yesterday over the hacking of our bank account - in the space about 90 minutes our account was virtually cleared out and an additional £4800 instant loan applied for and granted. A divert had been put on our phone line so that any calls from the bank querying irregular activity would go to the hackers rather than ourselves. Luckily I became suspicious and contacted the bank very quickly which meant they were able to retrieve the £4800 loan amount before it had been withdrawn!! The bank were amazing - professional and reassuring which lessened the stress a great deal, and the total amount should be refunded today, but still a very unpleasant experience!!

It is much cooler here today and we are back to grey skies rather than blue, but never mind, it is the weekend and the start of 2 weeks school holidays.
