The Hermitage - Jersey
The Hermitage - a cave alleged to be the home of St Helier, a Frankish missionary who was reputedly martyred there in 555 he was beheaded by pirates for warning Islanders of their arrival - it is set alongside the small harbour of Elizabeth Castle and gives a great view of the capital.
The weather was beautiful today and the sea was calm, we were able to get the duck over to the Islet, we spent a couple of hours wandering around the castle and grounds a super way to spend our last afternoon on the island.
All business done and dusted, met Carol's Auntie Peggy, 94 years old and going strong, she is still so sharp. Lovely to meet her again. Took a lot of photo's of Carol and her Aunt will get them developed, framed and sent out as soon as possible.
