Ipanema After Sunset

An 11 hour layover in Rio before the flight back to Heathrow, and a walk along Copacabana, followed by caipirinhas with old friends. The clouds which set in meant no real sunset over Ipanema, but as dusk approached we headed that way anyway, pausing here to purchase more caipirinhas from a street vendor.

After finishing our drinks while enjoying the evening, we continued our walk, with me frantically writing out the postcards I had just purchased, attempting to find a restaurant with outdoor seating available. In the end, running short on time, we jumped in a cab and headed to where they had been the night before - ending up right around the corner from where we had stayed on our first night (MeriRand's Rio abode) for a fantastic meal on a roof terrace with Ape and Kat.

If you're forced to leave Brazil, then this is definitely the way.
