Two lips

A quiet day after yesterday's rushing around. Caught up on myself doing various bits of admin, household chores and some batch cooking for the freezer.

I'd bought some beautiful tulips last weekend and they had finally gone over and had to be thrown out. I loved the two colours and the frilly petals (don't know the technical term for that). Someone once gave me a brilliant tip to make tulips last longer. You make a tiny hole in the base of the stem and again just under the flower head. The theory was that this encourages water to draw right up the stem. No idea if this is true but it seems to work. Either that or it's some kind of weird tulip placebo effect!

This one never quite opened up but I really like the shape - he looks like some sort of creature staring at the camera while licking his lips.
