A serious business

Wherever you go in Cyprus you are likely to see a small group of men huddled over a backgammon board. The boards are sometimes so well used that it is hard to see the markings any more.

This group are taxi drivers who play hard while waiting for fares. There is no time to stop and talk to an English tourist with a camera, so I just took a few photos before walking on. I think the game is called tavli here.

I was at the Tomb of the Kings today and enjoyed sitting and watching the swallows swooping low over the ground to catch insects.

Only tomorrow left of the holiday, and then the long trek home overnight.
