The Day I Realised Dated Things Can Be Stylish

When I was younger, I used to look at this restaurant (then a cafe) and thought how dated it looked and wondered why they didn't just rip it down.

But look at it now. It's reminiscent of Stingray or Thunderbirds and really evokes that 60's feel.

I've been watching a great little programme about motoring on Sky called The Petrol Age. This week was all about car icons and looked at the Austin 7, Land Rover, E-Type and Mini. I'd never thought of them as iconic before but they are and I think 60's and 70's architecture can be too.
